  4. First round of the BRCA national series

The first round of the BRCA national series took place on the 14th and 15th April. This year is the most competitive for years with a lot of drivers returning to 1/10th from 1/8th, so it is going to be a challenging year!

For 2wd on Saturday I was running the prototype DB1 conversion of the RB5 from Rudebits, and from first practice it felt straight on the pace. I ended up qualifying 3rd behind Lee Martin and Simon Moss after getting a 1 and 2 in round scores. The finals went well and finished 2nd in every final but was unable to get past Moss to take the final leg which left me 3rd overall.

In 4wd I went second in the first 2 rounds with the FS2. It felt really easy to push, but unfortunately I was beaten by 0.7 seconds on both runs, first by Tom Cockerill and then by Lee Martin. The 3rd Leg was affected by rain which didn’t help, and in the 4th I made a couple of errors. It left me lining up 4th on the grid and my final results were 7th, 3rd and then 7th giving me 5th overall.
My finals didn’t go as well as I hoped in 4wd but a 3rd and a 5th is a solid start to the year and I’m looking forward to the next round at Robin Hood Raceway.

    WEDNESDAY

I am looking forward to the KYOSHO barbecue at the Cradock’s house. I will meet the world champion Cody King and his dad Paul.

Everyone is at the Cradock’s house Elliott, Chris, Stewart and all the team. Cody is being very nice to me and the food is great, ‘ALL YOU CAN HANDLE BRO’.  My sister and her friends are in the hot tub having fun as the adults are drinking and still eating the food.

We are on our way home now mummy is driving as dad drank too much beer!

    THURSDAY

We are on our way to the Neobuggy race now. We just picked up Taro from the Cradock’s house as they don’t have much room as Cody bought too much stuff. 30 minutes from the track now, Taro is playing on the ipad as I write my blog about Neo 2012.

We arrived at the track and it’s basically a great big Cow shed and it’s big really big. We can’t get inside yet, so we have put up the Gazebo so we built the barbecue ready for tomorrow. We have set up our pit area and I’m pitting next to Cody King, he’s really nice and talks to me a lot. The track looks amazing it’s my type of track!

The hotel is nice and there is a restaurant opposite. We are at the Premier Inn lobby and Cody and Elliott are admiring each others beauty! Cody keeps looking at the vending machine which is full of chocolate.

We ate at the restaurant; Elliott had a chicken and bacon sandwich. They do very nice orange juice and Chris has a very nice Purple T-shirt on!! People keep asking him if he’s going to the prom!

  9. Kota Akimoto takes FEMCA EP Off Road 2WD.

    (source redrc)
In 2wd pole man and Kyosho driver Akimoto Kota would take the win from Yokomo driver Kikuchi Kai in 2nd, with Naoto taking 3rd. Akimoto would repeat the win in the 2nd leg to warp up the title with Kai once again taking 2nd and Meen Vejrak finishing 3rd. The last leg would decide the final podium positions and it was Naoto who would come through to take the victory to claim the runner up spot bumping Kai to 3rd despite being even on points.
