Elliott was returning to the Kyosho Masters this year for the annual event and was running both classes - Nitro and E Buggy MP9's. He was very much looking forward to the meeting as it is a great track to race on and a very exciting friendly event with the Kyosho family.
Friday we had practice all day where we were able to get the car and tyre setup to his liking, as the track was different to what we had a few years previously - as now it is nearly 95% astro and multi surface so the level of grip was very high. We were given some new springs by Kyosho to test so we were able to have our car setup really well as we were running the new grey springs, which are slightly harder than our normal blue ones. This made the car much more stable on the high grip surface. We tested it throughout practice on both cars and found them working extremely well.

Qualifying was very close between Elliott and Jerome, with Jerome just taking the TQ from Elliott with Elliott setting the fastest time in his last run but was able to TQ the E Buggy without any problems.

Semi-Final Elliott was on pole position and set off and was able to set a good lead within the first 5 minutes of the race but unfortunately was unable to make his first fuel stop on time due to low fuel in the tank so we had a flame out but was able to recover and still win the semi-final, which put him second on the grid for the Main A Final.

Main A Final Elliott and Jerome set the pace in the early laps, Jerome leading with Elliott following close behind, running very similar lap times with some epic driving from both drivers and a few whips from Elliott kept the crowd well entertained throughout the race. Due to the nature of the track very high grip and extremely fast, we wanted to make sure that our fuel stops were perfect and didn't' want to take any chances so we were re fuelling before Jerome and had to do one extra stop just to be safe, which led to a very close race. In the closing stages both drivers were battling for the lead but unfortunately Jerome broke his car and Elliott could coast home to the win - which would give him 3 wins for the Kyosho Masters Race over a number of years, which I think may be the only driver that has been able to do this.

E Buggy Main Final Elliott was able to win all 3 legs of the E Buggy finals, which were 10 minutes per race. The MP9 E ran perfectly all weekend with a very similar setup to his MP9 TKI3 and running with his Tekin RX8 ESC and the 1950 KV Motor.

Looking forward to next year as this is always a great event and to say well done to the club for putting on a great show and FDL for organising the event.

See you in 2015.

Regards
